We’ve added another short biography of  a member of Lodge Temperance 2557 who served in the Great War. Bro Alexander Robson was a Petty Officer with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and served in its Tyneside Division.

Alexander became a “man from the Pru” when joined the Prudential Assurance Company as an Insurance Agent in South Shields and had progressed to Assistant Assurance Superintendent by the time he joined Lodge Temperance 2557 in late 1915.

Why did he move to Gillingham in Kent after the War and why did his wife and three children disappear  never to be seen again? Perhaps we’ll never know but you can read about it and the rest of his story here. You can also go to our WW1 Roll of Honour and scroll down and select his name.
