A huge Lodge Temperance 2557 welcome to our newest Freemason Bro Neil Capstick who became a joining member at our regular meeting on 16th April.

Bro Neil, a member of Beamish Temple Lodge 9815 in the Masonic Province of Durham, owns and operationally manages Executive Compass, which has just celebrated its 10th birthday. The company, based at Hoults Yard, Walker Road, Newcastle are bid and tender specialists providing bid management and bid writing services for companies across the UK, Europe, the United States and Asia.

In his spare time, Bro Neil enjoys running, cycling and playing chess and is a campervan enthusiast. However, most of Neil’s spare time is spent studying as he has began working towards a Doctorate in Business in Administration with Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. Neil hopes to complete his studies around 2023.

Bro Neil has recently joined a team of other Freemasons (16 up to now) who will be participating in this years Great North Run for The Province of Durham’s 2021 Festival which was launched in 2016 to raise money for the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys (RMTGB). The Trust provides financial support for the children and grandchildren of Freemasons who are living in circumstances of hardship and distress due to the death, disability or redundancy of a parent, or the breakdown of the family. The charity also provides support for children from Masonic families who have severe disabilities, as well as those with an exceptional talent in music, sport and the performing arts.

While the work of the RMTGB is predominantly focussed on Masonic families, the charity’s Stepping Stones scheme provides grants to non-Masonic charities and programmes that also aim to break the link between poverty and a lack of access to education.

Please help Bro Neil achieve his target of raising £3,000 by giving whatever you can here.
