We had an excellent, albeit challenging, evening at our Installation on Tuesday 17th October. Several key members failed to attend due to illness or family or other commitments but Wbro Terry our DC rose to the challenge and the evening was a resounding success.

Very pleased to announce that a successful ballot was held for Wbro Tony to be an honorary member of the lodge. We also proposed and approved the Secretary as the Lodge’s Data Coordinator.

Wbro Alan was installed as Master and officers appointed and invested.

Perhaps the highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Charity Collarette to the Worshipful Master and festival charity jewels to the brethren by the representative of the Provincial Grand Master, Wbro Peter Marshall PAGDC and Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Wbro Brian Denton.

Wbro Brian Denton has commented that “Every member of the Lodge is a contributor to NMCA (Northumberland Masonic Charity Association) which is a fantastic achievement for the Charity Steward. The Representative of the PGM WBro Peter Marshall PAGDC presented 2020 Festival Stewards charity jewels to the brethren and also a collarette to the WM for the Lodge’s achievement in exceeding its cumulative total. I had the pleasure of assisting him. Unfortunately the charity Steward of the lodge WBro Gordon Newman has recently passed to the grand lodge above. All of his hard work over the years has paid off as the lodge has exceeded its target of £6,000 by another £5,000. This was acknowledged and appreciated by the lodge brethren and also WBro Marshall. Well done Lodge Temperance what a great achievement. My congratulations to all those brethren taking office hope you all have a great year and enjoy your freemasonry.”

Praise indeed and something we should all be proud of! We should also remember Bro Dr Chris is successor to Bro Gordon and has been our Charity Steward for nearly 2 years. Keep up the good work brethren.

Also proud to announce we raised £30 for the NMCA and £40 for the Teddy’s for Loving Care (TLC charity) on the evening. Thank you to all who contributed.
