If you were unable to attend our June meeting you missed an excellent evening.

Our numbers were boosted by a visit from members of the Light Blues Club of Northumberland and an unannounced visit by Wbro Brian Denton SGD, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, who were all given a very warm Masonic welcome.

A packed agenda included a second degree, election of Master, Treasurer and Tyler for the ensuing year, as well as the unpleasant task of approving an increase in annual subscription.

Bro Mark was well prepared and answered the questions before passing without fault or hesitation. He was passed to the second or Fellowcraft degree by the WM assisted by Wbro Peter  and Wbro Chris. A special mention to Bro Dr. Chris who did an excellent job of presenting the tools and charge and Bro Charles who did a great job as inner guard, his first time in office. At the end of the ceremony Wbro Brian Denton, with the help of Wbro Alan Bell and Wbro Tony Briggs described the grand Lodge regalia to Bro Mark and after congratulating him, presented him with the Mentor’s booklet.

Wbro Alan was re-elected as Master, Wbro Peter as Treasurer and Wbro Jim Irvine elected as Tyler for the ensuing year.

It was with sadness that the Lodge said farewell to Wbro Tony Briggs who is stepping down as our reporting Grand Officer. The Lodge presented him with a framed certificate in recognition of his guidance, support and friendship over the thirteen years he has held the office. Wbro Tony was also proposed as an honorary member of the Lodge.

Enjoy the summer recess and make a note in your diary that our next meeting is the coach on Thursday September 14th. Plenty of time to get out your ritual books and learn those words!

Keep checking back for all the latest from Lodge Temperance 2557!
